Anxiety and Children: How Parents Can Help

A significant number of youth report feeling “stressed out” and anxious. Such feelings can negatively impact children’s self-esteem, academic functioning, social relationships, and family life. This talk will provide you with an understanding of how anxiety impacts children and adolescents and practical ways to improve coping skills. Dr. Rubin will address the following key points: 1) Identify signs of stress/anxiety in your child; 2) Learn strategies for helping to decrease your child’s stress/anxiety; and 3) Become more aware of how parent stress contributes to child stress. There will be plenty of time for question and answer.
