Upcoming Presentation – Decreasing Jitters, Fears, and Rituals in your Child with Autism

Dr. Laura Rubin and Dr. Lauren Cook will address anxiety concerns in youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders during a special presentation on January 15, 2014 from 6:00 -8:00 pm at Constellations Behavioral Services (http://www.constellationsbehavioral.com/), 200 Griffin Road, Suite 5, Portsmouth, NH. The talk is free to the public.  A significant number of youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders have co-occuring struggles with anxiety.  Anxiety symptoms can negatively impact children’s academic functioning, social relationships, and ability to access support provided at school and at home.  This talk will provide participants with an understanding of various types of anxiety and how these challenges interact with the symptoms of autism. Participants will learn to identify potential symptoms of anxiety in their child, learn strategies for helping to decrease their child’s anxiety, and help their children learn ways to improve overall coping skills.
